About this archive

Garden of Recollection is a fan-made collection of the story illustrations from Honkai: Star Rail. The game uses them at key moments to hold a scene still: a turning point, a farewell, a place worth lingering on. They can be hard to find in one place, so this archive gathers and sorts them by version, act and mission. I maintain the archive, but I don't own the game artwork.

About the images

Captured in-game: I captured every illustration myself, directly from the game. Capturing them doesn't make me the owner; the artwork belongs to HoYoverse and its respective rights holders.
Resolution: Each illustration is available as a 1856 x 1044 PNG (16:9). That is the full size provided when you download it.
Organization: Each illustration is associated with a version, act and mission, with character tags where known. Titles and character tags are still being filled in, so some entries are incomplete.
Coverage: Currently 323 illustrations, up to version 4.6. New illustrations are added as the game updates.

How to use the archive

Search and filter. In the gallery, search character names, missions, versions, acts and titles. Filter by version, act and mission type, or sort by newest or oldest.

Open an illustration. Select a card to see its version, act, mission and character details. Use fullscreen to view the original, or the left and right arrow keys to move between illustrations. Press Esc to close.

Download or share. Download saves the original file. Copy link copies the address of that illustration.

Avoid spoilers. Use the spoiler controls on the home page or the gallery filters, and choose the acts you've finished. This filters the gallery only: illustration-page arrow navigation and shared links aren't restricted by those selections.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these as a background on my phone or computer?

The images are 16:9, so they suit most computer screens; you may need to crop them for a phone. I don't own these images—the artwork belongs to HoYoverse and its respective rights holders. Downloading an image from this archive doesn't grant permission to reuse or redistribute it. Usage guidance is still being finalized; please don't sell, print on products, or claim the artwork as your own. The Terms page will be updated when the guidance is ready.

Why do some illustrations have no title or characters?

I'm adding titles and character tags over time. Anything missing is still on the list.

Which characters are listed on each illustration?

Only playable characters are tagged. Non-playable characters and other figures in an illustration aren't listed, so an illustration may show people who aren't named on its page. Tags are added by hand and can be incomplete, so if one is missing or wrong, let me know through the contact form.

Will new illustrations be added?

Yes, as the game adds new story content and I capture it. I don't follow a fixed schedule, so the version number on the home page shows how current the archive is.

How do I report a mistake or ask for something to be removed?

Use the contact form and include the illustration page link and your name or organization with a removal request so I can identify and review it.
